Far From Charlottesville: The Alt-Right Around the World

Feb 27, 2018
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Description

Please join us for the second or our four-part series Beyond Charlottesville.

The violence in Charlottesville in August 2017 shocked many Americans who have been used to white supremacist and hate groups staying in the shadows. However, the so-called “Alt-Right” has come out into the open all over the world to challenge governments and social institutions with their open hatred of religious, racial, and ethnic groups. Who are these people? What drives them? What do they want?

This panel discussion will include Dr. Christine Erickson, professor of History, and Dr. James Lutz, professor of Political Science. It will be moderated by Dr. Michelle Kearl, professor of Communication.
